The Ihsan Arabic Program
Our courses are specially designed for learning Standard Arabic (fus-ha) in small groups online. We run separate live classes for men and women and welcome new students three times a year.

In your first lesson, you meet your teacher (Ella, Habib or Sophie) along with the five other students in your cohort.

Every week, you’ll attend a live 1-hour lesson and complete a further hour of self-study.

Everything is prepared in advance for you. You’ll receive weekly lesson notes, homework tasks and vocabulary lists.

All sessions are recorded and made available online so if you have to miss a week it won’t affect your progress.

Classes are practical and full of interactive activities. Your homework is personally marked on a weekly basis.

There are 7 levels which take you through the fundamentals of Arabic grammar. Each level lasts 14-weeks.
Course Details
What' you’ll learn
The Standard Arabic (fus-ha) that this course teaches will benefit students who wish to talk to people in Arabic-speaking countries, understand Arabic texts and media or study the language of the Qur’an.
The Level 1 Syllabus
If you know how to read the Arabic script, Level 1 is the perfect starting point. You’ll learn your first 100 Arabic words and study a range of grammar topics such as verb conjugation, describing nouns and the Arabic root system.
Conversation Club
We run a weekly conversation club for students who wish to go the extra mile and put their new knowledge into practice. This builds confidence, spontaneity and fluency.

Our classes are conducted via Zoom. You will need a laptop, pen & paper and a stable internet connection. It is not advisable to take lessons on your phone.

The classes are all recorded and made available online. This way, you can easily catch up if you happen to miss a week.

Besides the one-hour weekly class, students will need to put aside another 1-2 hours weekly for their Arabic studies if they wish to make substantial progress. This includes 10 minutes a day of vocabulary study, as well as the completion of weekly homework.

Upon completing a course, you will be invited to progress to the next level after a short break.

You should be able to confidently and fluently read the Arabic script. If you are not at that stage, then get in touch separately and we can set up reading lessons.
